Who would launch a website on Veteran's Day for Pete's sake? A veteran: one whose work habits sometimes leave him totally oblivious to weekends and national holidays!

Today is the official launch of DME Resources, the new home for my Independent Consulting business and the evolution of Media-Geek.com. Lots of content coming over the next few weeks, but the core functionality is finally out of BETA!

There's finally some content out using the latest and greatest HD standard, but I certainly won't be running to the store to replace my 1080i HDTV anytime soon. If you're a video "geek" like myself or have just been following the evolution of HDTV, you know that the PS3, Blu-ray, and 2nd generation HD-DVD will support 1080p. If you haven't been following this evolution, after reading this (and the CNET article linked below) you'll be able to tell the sales guy at your local electronics store to go annoy someone else while you browse for your next HDTV.

Picture quality is determined by a multitude of factors and believe it or not resolution isn't necessarily the most important factor when we talk about 720p, 1080i or 1080p capable HDTVs. Sure, it ranks right up there, but contrast ratio, color saturation, and color accuracy do as well. For more detailed information on the HDTV standards and resolution, check out this excellent CNET article from David Katzmaier. The fact of the matter is that difference in picture quality between 1080i and 1080p will not be noticeable to the average viewer.

You're already used to touch-enabled PCs, tablets, and smartphones, but eventually almost everything in your house could have a touch sensor, including doorknobs, cereal bowls, sofas, water, and even your own body. That's a reality scientists at Disney Research in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania --part of the Walt Disney Company's commercial research arm --are working toward with a new touch and gesture recognition platform called Touché.

All Heart - Sending Love

I realized the acronym after I typed the title. Catchy, although suddenly I need to use the restroom.

Seriously though, buckle down. We will get through this. No need to be a fanatic prick, though.

Help others, when you can. Maybe that's just a smile, wink or pat on the a**. Who knows, but I can tell you the latter may be problematic, so stick with the first two...unless you receive a specific request.

Spread love. It's still okay to do that. In fact, I think it's required.

You're going to see some amazing changes for the better, I'm pretty sure of it.

It may not be easy, it may not always be fun, you will likely have days where you're wondering why you still even bother.

Don't make me smack you on the a**.

I will, but I prefer not to unless specifically requested. ?

Make it a great day my friends! Sending ❤
